Call for Proposals for Spring HEAU Conference 2012

Save the date for the annual HEAU Spring Conference set for March 9, 2012 at Noah’s of South Jordan. Join us for a full day of great presentations addressing our conference theme: “HEAU with 2020 Vision- Focusing on the Future”

We are currently building our conference agenda and are looking for exciting and knowledgable presenters to address topics applicable to Health Education as we progress toward the year 2020. If you are interested in presenting during a 50 minute session, please read the following information about submitting an abstract. The deadline for submissions is January 6, 2012.

Abstract Submission:

The Health Education Association of Utah invites both professionals and students to submit an abstract for presentation at the 2012 Spring Conference. We are particularly interested in receiving breakout session presentations on topics that demonstrate application of knowledge, skills and tools of the future or other areas that are of particular interest to HEAU students and professionals such as public health issues, collaboration strategies, program planning and research. Another important topic could be how the new National Prevention Strategy released this June will affect the future of our profession.(This is not a comprehensive list and all submissions will be carefully and fairly reviewed). Anyone with knowledge and experience in the health field is encouraged to submit an abstract for review.

Submission Deadline is January 6, 2012.

Theme: “HEAU with 2020 Vision- Focusing on the Future”

Oral Presentations:
- Professionals may submit an abstract to present during a 50 minute session
- Students may submit an abstract to be one of two-three oral presenters during a 50 minute session

Abstract Criteria:

· Session Description - Two to four sentences to be used in marketing materials to describe the session to participants

· Word Count - Abstracts may not exceed 300 words

· Learning Objectives – Three or more learning objectives must be listed

· Contact Information -Abstracts must include name, address, phone, and email of presenter

Abstracts will be reviewed using the following criteria:

· Topic is significant to Health Education

· Abstract is consistent with HEAU’s theme of “HEAU with 2020 Vision- A Focus on the Future”
· Learning objectives are clearly defined & relevant to conference participants

Abstracts may be submitted to Andrea Jensen, HEAU Program Committee Chair, via email, fax, or mail by January 6, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Presenters will be notified via email by January 16, 2012.

HEAU Fall Forum 2011

Register

Registration is now open for the HEAU Fall Forum held on November 10 from 8:30-12:00 noon at the Salt Lake City Main Library at 210 East and 400 South, SLC. This year’s theme is “HEAU with 2020 Vision- Focusing on Best-Practices”. Keeping current through professional development is more important than ever as changes in funding issues make grants more competitive and new ideas evolve concerning how to motivate our program participants. Come hear the experts on grant writing, behavior motivation and more.

We are still working on the agenda, but you can expect some great presentations. If you are interested in presenting either an oral or poster presentation, please read the following information about submitting an abstract. The deadline for abstract submissions is December 17, 2010.

Abstract Submission:

The Health Education Association of Utah invites both professionals and students to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentation at the 2011 Spring Conference. This will be a great opportunity to present on public health issues, collaboration strategies, program planning and research. Anyone with knowledge and experience in the health field is encouraged to submit an abstract for review.

Submission Deadline is December 17, 2010.

Theme: Winnable Battles

Oral Presentations:
- Professionals may submit an abstract to present during a 50 minute session
- Students may submit an abstract to be one of three oral presenters during a 50 minute session (15 minutes each)

Poster Presentations:
-Professionals & students may submit an abstract for a poster presentation which will be displayed during the conference

Abstract Criteria:

  • Session Description - Two to four sentences to be used in marketing materials to describe the session to participants
  • Word Count - Abstracts may not exceed 400 words
  • Learning Objectives - Two to four learning objectives must be listed
  • Content - Abstracts should clearly state objectives, setting, methods, results & conclusion
  • Contact Information -Abstracts must include name, address, phone, and email of presenter
  • Abstracts will be reviewed using the following criteria:

  • Topic is significant to Health Education
  • Abstract is consistent with HEAU’s theme of Winnable Battles
  • Learning objectives are clearly defined & relevant to conference participants
  • Submission:
